Brotherly Love

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been over three months since my last update. A lot has happened, and our lives are once again being turned upside down. First, my assignment in Buffalo, NY has ended, so I’ve been traveling the country, working in a new city each week. It’s been quite the experience.

Gauley River, here we come!
One of my stops was to scenic Parkersburg, WV. I got a day off that week, and used the opportunity to raft the iconically named New River. Its' the second oldest river in the world, just behind the Nile. It was a wonderful, soul-refreshing experience. With building-sized boulders strewn about, I was in a land made for Titans. Besides Linh, penguins, white water, and drumming are my favorite things, so going white watering while on the road was a fantastic experience. I don't have any pictures, so I'm taking Linh on a two-day rafting/camping trip down the Gauley River in September. The Gauley River is only open seven weeks a year, and is chock full of class 5 rapids. I can't wait!

But the big news is that we are moving to Philadelphia! I’m being promoted and getting off the road.
I will be responsible for consulting and advising my clients in the Philadelphia area. The raise will

definitely help with wedding expenses, but the best part is that I will no longer be on the road! Lest you get the wrong idea, I love my job. Unlike practicing law, this is exciting and always challenging. But I miss my fiancĂ©e. I look forward to sleeping in my own bed every night.

Cheesesteak from Pat's King of Steaks, birthplace of the cheesesteak. This overrated, skimpy sandwich was $10. Not worth it!

We move at the end of the month. Our lease in Boston doesn’t run out until Thanksgiving, so we will be living in a hotel in the interim (paid for by my employer). I still won’t be sleeping on my own bed, but Linh will be with me. Plus we get unlimited fresh towels. This also means more hotel points to use on our honeymoon (more on that later).

This also means that I’ll need a car. I don’t own one now since I’m constantly traveling and am provided rentals. I’m looking at a 2009 or 2010 Infiniti G37x. It’s sleek, well-built, makes the right impression with clients, and I really want one.

Before I get to the other stuff, I should mention that our honeymoon destination has changed to…Argentina! February is summer in Argentina, and there is culture, nature, and the dollar is still worth
So many penguins!
something. And there are penguins! Linh found a sanctuary with over 200,000 penguins. And we get to walk among them! Not that I’m excited to see heaps of penguins or anything, but yeah, I totally am. Besides the penguins, we are stoked to visit Argentina. I should have enough hotel points to pay for the hotel in Buenos Aires and our international flights. We will visit other areas and have other expenses, but it will be an immense help.

Other happening include my cousin Devan visiting for July 4th, along with Linh’s sister and two cousins. I always enjoy showing off Boston. Linh and I also visited her alma mater the University of Maryland. That campus puts UF to shame. It was a humbling experience.

We've been busy, and it should get even busier. Till next time, huzzah!
